After alcohol was launch extrajudicial, several aspects of American life changed so that certain sharp individuals could make a profit off of Americas fixation on alcohol. These changes included the invention of the party, the Speakeasy, integrated wicked liquor clubs, and the institution of organized crime. The mob recogn ized that a hefty profit could be made by blackened liquor, and preceded to do so. The mob revolutionized organized crime and was soon in control of Americas major cities. Violence was rampant during this time, and crime rates both violent and non-violent, soared.
